Law Ruler Juvo Leads Integration Guide
This guide outlines the process for obtaining your Law Ruler API key and creating custom fields.
I. Obtaining Your Law Ruler API Key:
- Log in to Law Ruler
- Navigate to Settings: Locate the “Settings” or “Admin” section within Law Ruler. The exact location may vary slightly depending on your Law Ruler version.
- Find API Settings: Look for an “API” or “Integrations” section within the settings.
- Generate or Retrieve API Key:
- If you haven’t generated an API key before, there should be an option to “Generate API Key” or “Create API Key.” Click this button.
- If an API key already exists, it will be displayed on the screen.
- Copy and Secure Your API Key:
- Copy the API key and store it securely. Treat this key like a password, as it grants access to your Law Ruler data.
- Important: Law Ruler may only display the API key once. Ensure you copy it immediately.
II. Creating Custom Fields in Law Ruler:
- Navigate to Settings: Locate the “Settings” or “Admin” section.
- Find Custom Fields: Look for a “Custom Fields” or “Fields” section.
- Select the Object: Choose the object for which you want to create a custom field (e.g., “Cases,” “Contacts,” “Matters”).
- Create New Field:
- Click the “Add Field,” “New Field,” or similar button.
- Field Type: Select the appropriate field type (e.g., text, number, date, dropdown).
- Field Label: Enter a descriptive label for the field (e.g., “Referral Source,” “Case Value”).
- Field Name (API Name): Law Ruler will typically generate an API name for the field. This name is crucial for API integrations. Make sure to record this name.
- Other Settings: Configure any additional settings, such as required status, default value, or validation rules.
- Save the Field: Save the newly created custom field.
- Repeat as Needed: Repeat the process to create any additional custom fields required for your integration.
Please share your API Endpoint, API Key, and all field names with your Juvo Leads account manager.
